Gregory M. Buncke, MD, FACS: Director, The Buncke Clinic, San Francisco:

Dr.GregBunckehas been exposed to microsurgery at a very early age. His father, Harry J.BunckeMD is considered by many to be the “Father of Microsurgery”. In their garage, Harry but did many of the early live experimental operations on rabbits and primates to show that microsurgery can successfully be performed on humans. OnceGregreached college age he to became interested in microsurgical research and worked in his father’s laboratory which now had been move to Ralph K. Davies Medical Center in San Francisco. After medical school at Georgetown University, and Plastic Surgical training at Stanford University, he finished his training in Microsurgery and Hand Surgery with his father.Gregthen joined his father’s practice in 1987 and eventually became the director of theBunckeMedical Clinic in 2000. He is also Chairman of Plastic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco and has been part of the Medical Executive Committee for CPMC since 1998. Dr.GregBunckeinterests are in Hand Surgery, Microsurgery and Nerve Reconstuction. He is frequently invited both nationally and internationally to be visiting professor, guest lecturer and director of training courses. He trains surgical residents and fellows at theBunckeMedical Clinic, UCSF and Stanford.
